About Live:ReMaster
Live:ReMaster is a browser tool that gives screenshots of VTuber 3D live streams the color and clarity you would see on a monitor in theater mode. It is free and needs no sign-up. All processing happens inside your browser, and your image is never sent anywhere.
Why 3D live screenshots look dull
Live streams reach you compressed to a low bitrate to fit your connection. As a result, screenshots of 3D lives tend to come out washed-out and soft.
Live:ReMaster pulls that picture back toward what the scene must have looked like at the source. The name comes from remastering, the work of restoring analog-era anime for digital broadcast.
How to use it
- Drop an image, or click to choose one. On a phone, you can pick from your photos.
- The correction is applied automatically. Use the lever below the image to change its strength in five steps, from weaker to stronger.
- Press and hold the image to see the original. Let go to return to the corrected version, so you can compare while choosing the strength. On a keyboard, hold Space or Enter.
- Save the result: Download on a computer, or Save Image on a phone.
- Post on X opens the compose window. Attach the original, then the corrected image, in that order, to make a before/after post.
Images whose longer side exceeds 4096 pixels are resized to 4096 pixels before correction.
Your image never leaves your device
Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server. Rather than a promise, this is enforced in three ways.
- Zero outside requests. The correction runs entirely on your browser's WebGL2. From opening the tool to saving the result, not a single request goes to any host other than this site, and automated tests check this on every change.
- The exit is locked. Even if unwanted code slipped in, the browser's security settings (Content Security Policy) close every route for sending your image out. The site itself has no endpoint that accepts images.
- No third-party code. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no external font. Even the typeface is served from this site.
FAQ
- Is it free?
- Yes. No sign-up is needed.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. It runs in browsers that support WebGL2, such as recent versions of Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
- Can I use it on images other than 3D lives?
- You can, but the correction is tuned for screenshots of 3D live streams. Other images may not turn out as intended.
- Are my corrected images stored?
- No. When you close the page, both the original and the corrected image are gone from the browser. To keep one, download it or use Save Image.
